Allison Thoeny joins the faculty as a pediatric anesthesiologist. As an Arizona native and life-long Wildcat, she is thrilled to be returning home to her alma mater (Class of 2013) at the University of Arizona College of Medicine. After completing her internship in Internal Medicine at the University of Arizona Affiliated Hospitals, she moved to California to complete her residency training at the University of California San Francisco, followed by a fellowship in pediatric anesthesiology at Children's Hospital Los Angeles. Some of her professional areas of interest include pediatric anesthetic neurotoxicity, medical education, and career development of women in anesthesia.
She and her husband of 10 years are enjoying being back in the Sonoran Desert, taking in the land of Saguaros, plentiful wildlife, and breath-taking sunsets. When not working you may find her in the swimming pool or taking a dance class; never far from her side is their dog of 14 years, a very affectionate chihuahua-mini dachshund mix. She is especially happy to be closer to family in Phoenix, cherishing weekend visits together with her new nephew and niece.
