Academic / Professional Bio:
Andreia Z. Chignalia is originally from Sao Paulo, Brazil. She graduated from the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Sao Paulo and then continued on to obtain her PhD in Pharmacology at University of Sao Paulo. She completed an international fellowship in experimental hypertension as a graduate student at the University of Ottawa, Canada and a postdoctoral international fellowship in lung permeability at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Her research interests focus on the mechanisms that contribute to the development of cardiovascular diseases. She likes to travel and enjoys music and dance. Dr. Chignalia recently moved to Tucson with her family and she looks forward to enjoy the warm weather.
